Hi Parents, We hope you are all adjusting well to these weeks of working from home. Please continue to reach out to your child's SLP with questions and concerns or happy moments! We love to hear about progress!! In this blog post, you will find links to the final weeks lesson plans for speech and language. Remember, these are guides to improving speech and language and may not always apply to your students weaknesses. Nevertheless, these activities are good extension activities for all kids. For specific activities that would target the specific goals in your child's IEP, you would need to speak directly to your child's SLP. Each week, you should receive some type of contact either through email, phone calls, texts, etc. You can request a zoom conference anytime!

Hi Parents! We are now into Week 4 of our distance learning. What an adventure! Here is the link to the Grandview Speech and Language Department's Speech and language lesson plans. You are welcome to do any or all activities listed in the lesson plan, but if you prefer, look for your child's age range and find the activity that is associated with the age. Be expecting a phone call or email from your child's therapist to check in, offer suggestions or answer questions. Several parents have requested zoom therapy sessions. If you are available for this type of service, please let your therapist know.
Hi Parents! I hope you are all doing well! If you are looking for additional activities to do with your child, I would encourage you to refer to our Language Tips tab at the top and click on the drop down "Language Activities to do at Home" tab. There are many, many suggested activities for you and your child. Again, please contact your child's SLP with ANY questions...we would love to hear from you!
Hi Parents, I hope you are beginning to adjust (somewhat) to the giant changes in your everyday life, especially with trying to help your child with the abundance of school work. I know teachers in our district are working very hard to provide good instruction to your children virtually. Each week, there should be new lessons and packets for your child to complete at home. As far as speech and language therapy goes, this is still something that we can offer your child. I know it can be overwhelming trying to keep up with everyone's schedule. The Grandview Speech/Language pathologists are committed to offering any instruction and answer any questions that you have. Each week, you should either receive an email from your SLP stating specific learning targets for the week or you can access the lesson plans here...
Please find the activity that is most appropriate for your child and try to complete this at home. Your SLP will be contacting you OR you can contact her for additional assistance. If you would like to schedule a virtual therapy session, please let your SLP know. These sessions are most commonly completed through Zoom so you will need to make sure you have downloaded zoom.us to your device (computer or phone or Ipad). Thanks for your help and please don't hesitate to contact your SLP for additional resources.
